The SMEtoLEAD project is close to its end.
The remaining months, until November 2008, will be dedicated to assessing the impact of the project on its target audience, European SMEs. As any European Commission funded projects we have to ensure that we delivered a meaningful service, according to high quality standards and which will ensure a good return on investment for the Community.
As per our original contract, 25 training sessions were held across Europe and beyond (one session brought us to Moscow in 2007). We exceeded expectations in number of trainees with over 650 organisations which attended an S2L session, of which over 60% were SMEs. The training events were very successful with 84% of the trainees rating the S2L training programme good to excellent.
Thank you!
We would like to thank all our local interfaces for the fantastic support in preparing, delivering and following up the S2L trainings, thanks to you we have been able to host trainings in many more places than what was originally planned, accessing many more people and companies.
We would also like to thank all the participants for their presence and great interactions (we are still following up with a lot of you and are very impressed by the level of FP7-related activity and success that we can see!) And from the coordinator a big “MERCI” to the 10 other S2L partners for the great work done over the last 33 months! It has been a real pleasure working with you!

Michael Mathiasen, of Finmekanisk Vaerksted, a small family-owned Danish company working in materials processing tells S2L NCP Christian Holstein how the training was “an eye opener to the possibilities of European R&D Programmes” and how “it helped (them) greatly in deciding to actually go for it”!

Partners wanted!
SMEtoLEAD is an FP6 funded project. In November 2008, the European Commission funding to the project will stop. To ensure that S2L survives and becomes self-sustainable we are looking at partnering with organisations interested in the following:
- Training in general
- Project Management training
- FP related training or seminars
If you are a training company, you might be interested to add new training to your portfolio.
If you are an organisation involved with FP7 activities, you might be willing to offer a new service to your users/clients/members. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact us at info@smetolead.org.
